Dear Parents,

Welcome Back to School! We look forward to welcoming our New and Returning Families to Waldorf Academy on Tuesday Sept. 8!

All this information has been shared earlier, but to recap:

Drop Off - Tuesday Sept. 8 between 8:00 - 8:30 in the Sideyard (because of their participation in the Rose Ceremony Gr. 1 Parents are asked to drop off their children in the backyard,

P‍ick Up - Grade School 3:30.

(Aftercare ends at 5:30 for those who have signed up).

Kindergarteners, we look forward to seeing you all at Glen Edith Park for our Potluck Picnic - 11:30 am - 12:30 pm as part of the ‘gentle transition’ to comfortably ease them into a new schedule and environment.

FIRST DAY ROSE CEREMONY

The opening Rose Ceremony will take place in the gym. Please drop your child off in the side yard by the usual 8:00 - 8:20 time. They will come up to their classes before the ceremony. You will have some time to grab a coffee and settle into the gym before 9:00.

The community is invited to stay for this heartwarming school-wide event.

PICK UP, DROP OFF & PARKING

The first few days of getting into a rhythm means that there will be some pick up and drop off hiccups. With safety for our children a priority, please heed the direction of the crossing guards stationed at our front door. Limited metered and neighbourhood street parking can be found on Madison Avenue and adjacent side streets for longer term visits for those in our multi-modal community who do not bicycle, public transit or walk to school.

READY FOR SCHOOL? WE ARE!

First Day Materials all ready?

Please review the list of items in the summer letter for your child's extra clothing bag. For example, Ms. Agi for Grade 3 wrote:
- Indoor labeled shoes (suitable for gym)
- Extra clothing(labeled shorts, pants, underwear, socks)
- Rain gear (can be kept in a bag to avoid buying more than one set)
- Pottery cup (if child does not already have one at school)
- Labeled water bottle
- Labeled canvas extra clothing bag for everything

Hot Lunch (sign up deadline tomorrow)

Our school will be offering Hot Lunch on Fridays this year! Please see the PDF for more information,

We look forward to many happy community moments with all of our new and returning students and families!

Twenty-seven new families have joined us, so if you see someone you don’t recognize, please introduce yourself and say hi. We all remember what our first day of school was like.

See you on Tuesday!

Kind Regards,

Conor Jones
Director of School
