Tuition

Waldorf Academy is a not-for-profit organization. Tuition is established annually to ensure the vision and mission of the school is fulfilled.

Tuition Assistance

We believe that Waldorf education should be as accessible as possible. Within our budget resources, we do our best to provide assistance to families for whom fees are prohibitive. Tuition Assistance is available for families with children in Kindergarten through Grade 8. Childcare fees are subsidized automatically by the Canada-Wide Early Learning & Child Care program (CWELLC).

  • Tuition assistance applications can take several hours to submit and a few weeks to process. Please initiate your (re)application early.

  • Tuition assistance applications must be made through Apple Financial, an independent organization that objectively reviews applicant eligibility. See further application tips below.

  • Existing families: tuition assistance applications are due on February 1

  • New families: tuition assistance applications should be submitted as soon as you have filled out an application form (NB: you do not need to be accepted into a school to fill out an Apple Financial submission).

  • After submitting your application, you will hear within a few weeks about any tuition adjustment.

  • Tuition assistance may be between 5% and 50% of tuition fees per student.

  • The amount of tuition assistance given in one year may be different the next.

  • The funds available for tuition assistance vary per year, and are based on the number of eligible applicants and our budget.

  • Applications for tuition assistance must be renewed each year.

Tuition Assistance Application

You may apply for tuition assistance if you are unable to pay full tuition, using the steps below. These are tips only. Please contact Apple Financial directly for any assistance in filling out their application forms.

  1. Visit Apple Financial.

  2. Create a Parent Account Registration which will allow you to log in and out, and to save partially completed work.

  3. A verification message stating, “account set up” will be sent to the email address you provide.

  4. Once this verification message is received you will be able to open the online registration form, which quite closely follows the format of last year’s form in terms of information requested.

  5. At the end of the multi-page application, requests will appear for uploading tax information such as your T4, current year’s pay statements, divorce agreements, etc. If you are not able to upload those documents right away, you can submit the application without uploading, and email the requested documents to Apple Financial independently.

  6. Once you submit the main application, you will be prompted to pay Apple Financial online for processing your file (~$135).

  7. A financial analysis, followed by a recommendation, will be sent from Apple Financial to the Tuition Assistance Committee at Waldorf Academy.

  8. All details of your application are kept confidential.

  9. Within a few weeks, the Admissions Manager will let you know if a tuition award can be offered.
