Dispatches from our Classrooms
Dear Parents,
To think that we are on the homestretch to summer, with bucolic lakeside camping trips and family time stretching out in the sunshine.
It’s a Wrap! Our recent plays have been ‘hero journey’s. The King of Ireland’s Son, A Wrinkle in Time and now with the incredible Odysseus. They all highlight the challenges of our protagonists and their triumph over adversity. How the students shine when they take to the stage. A huge thanks goes out to our musicians and set and costume designers.
This brings us to our next point. A play is a huge production with many actors and supporting roles. Last night our Grade 8s took to the stage to receive their accolades and be reminded how important they are to the community. As Ms. Bender spoke: Growing up is not a straight line. Everyone’s journey to graduation is a Homeric tale.
While we congratulate our graduates on this incredible milestone - the spotlight is theirs! - remember that you all helped play a role in getting these wonderful students to the podium. Thank you as well to our Grade 7 Class for organizing the event. It was warm and heartfelt and full of mirth.
Congratulations to everyone on an incredible theatre season! And thank you to our Graduates for the wisdom, joy and leadership they brought to the school.

Your Voice Matters Parent Survey
Dear Waldorf Academy Families,
As we near the close of the school year, we are inviting your reflections through our annual parent survey, linked below.
The education of a child is a partnership, and your perspective is an important part of it. You see your children in ways we do not, and your observations about their growth and their experience help inform our work as a school.
We ask you to answer honestly. Your candour, whether it affirms what is working or identifies what could be better, is what helps us improve. Your responses will be read with care, held in confidence, and used to inform our planning for the year ahead.
The survey takes only a few minutes to complete and will remain open until Monday, June 16.

DISPATCHES FROM THE CLASSROOMS
Kindergarteners to Riverdale Farm
Grade 2 - King of Ireland’s Son Play
Grade 5, 6 - Odysseus Play comes to life
Venegeful gods, a blinded Cyclops, Kings and Queen’s hosting banquets, and hero’s dashed on the rocks of doubt. Lifelong memories were made by the The Grade 5/6 Class performing as they did in ancient Greece almost 3000 years ago.
GRADUATION!
Last night, in an intimate gathering of teachers, parents and students, we celebrated the accomplishments of our remarkable Grade 8 Graduates. This is a school of stories and the evening did not disappoint! Thoughtful speeches, humour, words of wisdom were shared and our Graduates got a well deserved ‘send off’ they will never forget.
From Last week - Thanks Fabiana for the Softball Tournament Pictures!
