Team Track and Field

Dear Community,

It has been a delightful week with the community in full animation. Watching students push their endurance, find ‘wow’ in their discovery, and try new things has been inspiring.

Equally delightful has been the support of our community as the Give and Grow Clothing bin by the front door has been filled a number of times over by generous parents looking to pass along much loved clothing to the next Generation of parents and students.

We’re looking forward to seeing the school in animation at the Give and Grow Clothing Sale on Sunday!

With respect,

Conor

Pushing our Endurance

Thank you to Mr. Ankamah for preparing and leading our Grades 5-8 team to the Track and Field competition and congratulations to our students for all your hard work and participation. The team exuberance was inspiring to watch. Thanks as well to those parents who attended to cheer on our team! Photos courtesy of Mr. Grusmao

DISPATCHES from the CLASSROOM

Every once in a while we’ll share with the community a story or activity that says “This is what Waldorf is all about.”

Kindergarten tending to the Garden

Today’s activities include Kindergarteners harvesting potatoes from their garden to make their famous ‘Stone Soup’ and Grade 7 learning about Africa through music.

Grade 7 - Main Lesson Block on Africa

As we all know, a Waldorf main lesson block is a concentrated period of study, typically lasting 3 to 4 weeks, where students focus intensely on a single subject each morning for about two hours.

This method replaces daily, short periods of multiple subjects with deep immersion in one, allowing students to "go deep not wide". The blocks rotate throughout the year, and the learning within a block is recorded by students in a handwritten and illustrated "main lesson book".

Here are some images from today’s drumming circle where music and rhythm and community come to life! Thank you African Drums and Art Crafts Saikou for your incredible teaching!
