Got Plans on Tuesdays?

Every Tuesday after drop-off, our Waldorf Academy parent community gathers together  to knit. As holiday scarves and hats are created, stories weave through the morning. This rhythm of calm, connection, and creativity extends beyond the classroom with parents happy to learn what their children are learning.

In Waldorf education, handwork is so much more than a craft. Not only a utilitarian skill, it’s a way to nurture the head, heart, and hands as well.

Through knitting, children develop:

  • Fine-motor coordination and finger dexterity

  • Concentration and patience through rhythmic movement

  • Mathematical awareness by counting stitches and patterns

  • Confidence and resilience as they see their work grow row by row

  • And most beautifully, a deep sense of satisfaction, purpose and pride in creating something with their own hands.

When parents gather to knit, they mirror that same rhythm their children experience in class. We connect, and model the joy of mindful work. This is the fabric of our community.

No experience needed just bring your curiosity, and your heart.
