Coffee Haus Talent Evening

What’s a Coffee Haus you ask?!*

Grades 5-8 hosted a Coffee Haus evening to celebrate the variety of talent - from group singing or dance numbers, solos, instrumentalists, skits or poetry readings - in our very active and creative school.

It was a magical evening that included Dead Parrots, Where’s Waldo, thoughtful poetry, classical piano recitals, magic tricks, boy bands and songs from the heart.

"It’s a social gathering, often held in a cozy café-style setting, designed to foster community through conversation, live performances (like music or poetry). Historically known as "schools of wisdom" for intellectual debate, modern versions often feature open mics, art exhibitions." - Ms. Hilts

Waldorf’s Director noted - Our students will remember their performances at Friday’s Coffee Haus forever. That is a big statement; I stand by it. The students presented memorable moments, solo songs, poetry, choreographed boy-band theatrics, and comedy skits that I will remember - so their experience of the event, a thousand times more intense and ingrained, will be memories for life.

Surely you remember some performance, event, moment whether in a formal presentation or just with friends. A moment that stands out in technicolour, slow motion, and with deep connection. The performances last Friday held that level of energy - lightning in a bottle - for our students.  It was Waldorf Academy when we are at our best.
