Sydney is a community worker, educator, social justice advocate, and mother of three. She received a Community Worker diploma from George Brown College in 2003 and this training continues to inform her work. In 2013, she received a Bachelor of Education from York University with a specialization in teaching English. Sydney believes stories have the ability to transform and inspire and that, as Thomas King says, “The truth about stories, is that’s all we are.” This love of storytelling is what first drew Sydney to Waldorf. She was the Grade Eight Assistant at Waldorf Academy in 2018/2019 and continued as the Middle School Language Arts Specialist in 2019/2020. Sydney was delighted to support Mrs. Hagon as the Grade Six teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. In 2021/2022, she continues to spend her time in Middle School, teaching Language Arts, Health, Cyber Civics and Practical Arts.
