Jula Bender holds a Bachelor of Arts honours, Drama Major, Math minor, and a Bachelor of Education from
Queen’s University.  She has had a variety of teaching experiences is thrilled to infuse her diverse
portfolio into the math program at  Waldorf Academy. As a performing artist in the Toronto
community, Jula has had the opportunity to both teach and perform at The Second City; thus, she works hard
to infuse art into her teaching practice. Jula’s passion and dedication to celebrating diversity led her to
teach abroad at the Canadian International School in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Most recently, Jula
taught in the Junior School at Branksome Hall here in Toronto. Jula’s math
classroom is one that fosters creative problem solving, critical thinking, and finding the fun in
mathematics. It is important to Jula that her students feel heard and seen in their learning.
