Ways to Give
“Giving is the transaction that unites human beings on a higher level. In giving, we almost always feel joined in community toward achieving a social goal that has implications far into the future…”
from Money Can Heal, Siegfried E. Finser, Co-Founder, Rudolf Steiner Foundation (RSF)
Waldorf Academy is sustained and enriched through gifts made by parents, grandparents, alumni, faculty and staff, and friends. This generous expression of shared commitment and support ensures that the school will be able to continue to offer the most relevant and inspiring education to children today and for many years to come.
Your support and the contributions of many others enable our school to recruit and retain talented, dedicated teachers, support a full Waldorf curriculum, provide tuition assistance, and maintain and enhance our beautiful campus.
Our need for gift support this year is $110,000. Gifts to our Annual Gift Giving Campaign, proceeds from our Winter Fair and other fundraising events, plus revenue from our school store all provide this much-needed support for our school.
The Annual Fund is essential to Waldorf Academy’s annual operating budget and provides our school with resources to be used where the need is greatest. Gifts to the Annual Fund support such areas as faculty professional development, academic, artistic, remedial and athletic programs, campus maintenance, and tuition assistance. Since tuition covers 85 percent of annual operating expenses, gifts to this fund are essential.
All independent schools rely on donations over and above tuition fees to meet their annual budgets.
Your tax-deductible gift can be made by cash, check, or credit card, and can be made in one single payment or in installments. Make sure to ask if your employer or your spouse’s employer has a matching gift program. For questions about the Annual Fund, please contact our Business Operations Manager, Angelo Zaccheo bom@waldorfacademy.org or 416-962-6447 ext 226

The Donate link on our home page DONATE will take you to their website where you can direct your gift to Waldorf Academy. Installment or Recurring Gifts?
An increasing number of people are authorizing monthly credit card transactions or automatic bank account debits as a way to make sustaining gifts over time. If you set this up independently with your credit card company, please let us know so we can properly thank you. For further information or to set up a recurring gift please contact our Business Manager, 416-962-6447, bom@waldorfacademy.org.
Corporate Matching Gifts
This is a wonderful way to double or even triple your gift. Many companies will match gifts to non-profit organizations like the Waldorf Academy. To participate, obtain a matching gift form from your company’s personnel or human resources office, check to see that your company supports elementary education, and send it along with your gift.
There are many ways to support the school by making a planned gift. A bequest naming the Waldorf Academy as a beneficiary in your will is the simplest form. Charitable gift annuities, life insurance, remainder trusts, and other types of deferred giving might be appropriate for you and should be planned in consultation with your financial advisor or tax accountant.
Our Business Manager is available to assist if you are interested in establishing a planned gift. 416-962-6447 bom@waldorfacademy.org
Gifts in Kind
The school welcomes donations of products and services in addition to financial contributions. These may include tangible items such as furniture and equipment or needed services such as architectural design, painting and repairs, or design and printing services.
Please understand that the school might not be able to accept all items, and donations might be declined if items can not be used or readily sold. If you would like to make an in-kind gift, please contact Jennifer Deathe 416-962-6447 jdeathe@waldorfacademy.org.
Volunteer participation is important to the spirit and vitality of our school. It builds a strong sense of community and gets our work accomplished. There are many ways to get involved that match your interests, talents, and availability, and all are welcome.
